After 5 years the show that had teams pit their wits in simulation of real life battles was brought back. However it was hosted by Gregg Wallace whose brusque style did not go down well with everyone even the show's historical experts.

The word game was revied in 1996 with the genial Bob Holness as host. After 7 years Holness was replaced by Fiona Bruce and the ratings slip soon meant the show was soon axed though perhaps the biggest blame should go to regular panel member Rod Liddle and his rather stumbling manner
