Starting a new series on BBC1 tonight is Have I Got News For You, a show that really should have been axed years ago. My main issue is that since Angus Deyton was forced to leave his role as host the failure to have a regular host has meant that Ian Hislop's pontifications goes unchecked while Paul Merton's babbling is only funny to him. If anything today politics does not need anybody to mock it when it can the job fine by itself as seen in Theresa May's speech at this week's Conservative Party conference.
