Windsor Davies (1930-2019)
The death of Windsor Davies has been announced. With his Welsh accent he naturally played roles from that region however he was actually born in the London borough of Canning with him moving to his Father's homeland of Wales. In one of his early TV appearances he appeared in Doctor Who exterminated by a Dalek.. His big break came with It Ain't Half Hot Mum as a stern Army Sergeant who has to put with a troop of Army entertainers. Davies enjoyed some chart hits with co star Don Estelle. Another Sit-Com hit for Davies was Never the Twain in which he and Donald Sinden played rival antique dealers whose shops just happen to next to each other and their children have married each other. Davies final TV acting role was in an episode of My Family.
