Hey Bill read these
US chat show host Bill Maher is continuing his war of words with comic book fans. He suggested to them that they should grow up by reading novels by authors like Toni Morrison. Here are a couple of examples that printed graphic entertainment is not just for kids
Watchmen
Once described by Time magazine as one of the greatest novels of the 20th Century. Alan Moore writes word and Dave Gibbons provides the art for this deconstruction of the superhero genre. Featuring graphic scenes of sex and violence Watchmen is definitely for kids.
Sin City
Frank Miller writes and draws theses tales that take their cues from such hard boiled crime writers like Mickey Spillane. Featuring tales of tough guys and dangerous dames 2 films were made out of the series. Maher's main dalliance with the crime genre was as a guest actor on an episode of Murder, She Wrote that also guest starred Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad fame.
