More than Film

After the news that the long running BBC Film programme here is a list of programmes in the same vein.

Moviedrome

At first presented by Alex Cox and then by Mark Cousins. Each week a film that could classed as a cult would be shown with an introduction explaining it's unique. Films shown range from the commercial fare like The Terminator, Scarface and Mad Max 2 to more arthouse fare like Walkabout and Girl On a Motorcycle.

Talking Pictures

After a first series that took it self far seriously Howard Schuman came as a far more witty presenter. The programme had items that focused on upcoming releases and aspects of film making such as storyboarding.

Scene by Scene

Another programme presented by Mark Cousins. Each week he would show big screen legends (Sean Connery, Kirk Douglas, Lauren Becall to name 3) scenes from their films. One memorable exchange came when Cousins asked Terence Stamp what it was liked working with Marlon Brando on Superman. 'Funny' was Stamp response, 'in what way funny' and Stamp responded 'Tommy Cooper funny' referring to the famed comedian/magician.
