Charlie and his pay
One of the most intriguing disclosures from the BBC's pay revelations was that the highest paid actor was Derek Thompson for the role of nurse Charlie in Casualty, which he has done the show's creation in 1986. Thompson beat out higher profile names like David Jason, Emila Fox and the departing star of Doctor Who Peter Capaldi. Former BBC head Michael Grade has said that one consequence of the disclosures is that agents will now start demanding higher fees for their clients who will feel on seeing what their colleagues are getting paid are they being underpaid.
