Second chance on a talent show?

They have been many cases of performers using TV talent shows as a second chance at the big time. One of the most intriguing examples being Max Bacon, in 1987 he appeared on New Faces yet the year before he had been part of GTR. For those who have have not heard of GTR it saw Prog Rock guitar gods Steve Hackett of Genesis fame and YES's Steve Howe coming together to form a band with Bacon providing lead Vocals. The band enjoyed some modest success in particular the single When the Heart Rules the Mind making the US top 20. However due to that old proverbial creative differences the band broke up.
