This Monday morning BBC 1 will start showing Morning Live. It is their first morning magazine programme since the 1990s. The first attempt at a morning show was Open Air which was hosted by among Eamon Holmes, it focused on TV and in one memorable moment featured featured future Doctor Who show runner Chris Chibnall venting fury at writers Pip and Jane Baker over their work on the show. A later effort was Good Morning with Anne and Nick which saw Anne Diamond and Nick Owen repeating their TV-AM partnership, for a time it beat the ITV daytime giant This Morning in the ratings but it ended in 1996 and the BBC left morning magazine format alone until now weather viewers take to remains to be seen.
