Trainspotting, 21 years later

This week sees the release of the long awaited sequel to Trainspotting. When it was released in 1996 Trainspotting became a pop culture phoemon and taking the careers of those involved in the project to new heights. So a really curious thought came to me when I was watching Tipping Point last night. a young female constentant was asked from which film did the choose life monologue came from, she did not know the answer and when told it she replied she had not seen it. It is curious to think that a film that made such a mark on the public psyche on it's release can be overlooked now.
