When Cathy becomes Emma

The deaths of both Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg highlights a curious fact about The Avengers the TV show that they both starred in. An number of Blackman's episode were remade in colour. One such example  being 1963's Dressed to Kill which was remade in 1967 as The Superlative Seven with notable guest stars Charlotte Rampling, Donald Sutherland and Brian Blessed. The only other known example of was the remakes of lost Dad's Army episodes.

Star Cops - a prophetic show?

Just been added to the BritBox Is Star Cops. It would come to represent the BBC's last true (barring Doctor Who) attempt at science fiction. It ran for only 1 series in 1987. Set in 2047, it starred David Calder as Nathan Spring the head of an outer space police force that investigated such crimes as radio active waste smuggling. The show was created by Chris Boucher who had worked on Doctor Who in the 1970s while another Who writer who worked on Star Cops was Philip Martin.  The show was beset by so many production problems that one script was left unmade. What of the show itself? there are many interesting ideas on show with one in particular a computerised box that that Spring consults. A forerunner of Alexa?

The untimely passing of Back Panther star Chadwick Boseman has serious concerns for Disney. Pre production was about to start on the follow up to the mega hit the death of it's star has slowed down. Talk of recasting the role has been ruled distasteful to the family of Boseman. One idea that has been suggested that the mantle of Black Panther is handed over to another character. Whatever option is picked there will sadly be those not happy with the step taken.
